Starting your Journey: A Ghetto Fisherman's Guide to beginner Fishing.

Hi there, you young angler you!

This is your buddy Ghetto Fisherman Ong here. Today I want to help you start your journey in this bright and illustrious career of Fishing!

Fishing is begining to gain serious traction here in Sunny Singapore, and nows the best time to start [before all the fish get fished out] We at Fishing Kims traditionally fish in the east side, but at times venture elsewhere to catch some dinner.

Starting out you'll need to get your kit! Head on down to Changi Village where there are a couple of Tackle shops you can check out. Of course there are other shops, in Ubi, Beach Road, BukitBatok, just to name a few,and please do try them out and let us know how is it. But for now lets just focus on CV.

3 shops there all on the same stretch, Gary's Tackle, Changi Pro, Riverland.
Now all have their merits, and its really up to you to see and compare prices, but today we really only want to discuss about general gear to get.

Step 1: ROD
Just any basic rod will be fine. if you wanna do it Ghetto way, borrow from your friends!! if not theres a couple of $10 rods there which are super decent.

Step 2: REEL
Just any of the basic reels you got in the baskets. but again best way is ghetto way, just any of your uncle friends, surely someone once fished, and arent using their old kit and are willing to lend. the bargain bin ones shouldnt cost u above $10.
[you could also look at the combos, some go for real cheap, just rmb to ask the uncle for the best best best price!]

STEP 3: LINE
NEHHHHH no money no talk. afterall we just wanna try if fishing is for us. Braided, Fluro, Mono. Fish is fish. no need so much..... FOR NOW. Just use the ones provided with the reel.

STEP 4: TACKLE
Gonna need me a swivel, HOOKS, weightss, Pliers, Line.
ALL can be gotten cheap. swivels $0.80, Hooks $1.00 size 3,2,1,1/0 smaller ( see which one appeals to you more) , Weights (small one can liao. size 2? 3? buy about $2 with different sizes you can mix and match. Plies any old one from your home also can. if not about $7. and Line.
This is separate from the on on your reel. this one is for you to tie your rigs. any cheap 30lb line? its like in a little baggy. Get like the thicker ones, easier to tie!

Now that you've got all these in your hands, faster pay and faster go. you dont want to be stuck there giving yourself options to buy more stuff. How bout a bell? maybe braided line bah. how bout a Lipgrip. maybe some squid skirts. NO NONO. we only want basicccc!!

Now go youtube with all your goodies, and learn to tie an APOLLO RIG. basic right.  takes a bit of practice. of course you could spend money and buy a premade one... but daymn son.

MOST IMPT STEP! take your kit and buy your PRWNS and go fishing!!!!11

RMB take photos, brag about how you caught a fish thiiiiissssss biiiigg but it got away at the very last second. and get ready to be addicted!!!
