We've only made 2 trips to Punggol end which lasted for 3-4 hours so the CR doesnt represent eveything caught there.
they say Sarong worms are best for jetties anywhere be it sembawang,Punggol end, or Bedok Jetty.
Sea bream!they can be caught if you can cast further out to sea!they go for prawn meat as well. they tug hard on the line and swim downwards when hooked.not as hard a a barramundi and definitely doesnt take any line out. Always a good catch this fish doesnt contain much meat so if you're planning on eating it,deep frying is the best for this!
Size 3/0 hooks were used as you can see that the hook was bigger than the mouth! size 5 hooks are small enough if you are aiming to catch this fish.
Stingray of decent sizes are caught at Punggol end!for some particular reason they tend to be bigger in size here as compared to Pasir Ris!Out of the 2 times that we've been here, I've seen 2 hook ups on each occasion!released for good reasons that its not big enough as well.
this particular one was caught using sarong worms with size 1/0 hooks. usually those who cast really far out tend to catch rays.
Puffers are most common everywhere but this particular box puffer was quite a surprise as interesting.the entire body is basically a hard boney shell.
uncles advised us to leave it out to die but as you know a life is still a life so we tossed it back into the sea discreetly.
No need for any explainations. Toadfish are most plenty at Punggol end jetty.they can be caught using the head of prawns in which you would usually toss.
juvernile orange spotted grouper!many around us told us that it's an unusual catch here but these were caught a few mins apart from each other!so we placed them side by side for a picture.they were small so you know the drill.
it was about 9pm on a separate day and into the night when this was caught!Mozambique catfish!! caught using sarong worms and it put up a good fight!i would estimate this one at 1kg!
hook size 2/0 with apollo rig as usual!
Thats all we have!
Cheers and peace out!
